Kiwanis Club needs your help to "Stuff the Bus"

Horry County, SC - From the Kiwanias Club of Myrtle Beach:

Myrtle Beach, SC The Kiwanis Club of Myrtle Beach is organizing a "Stuff the Bus" Food Drive to benefit the Help-4-Kids Program located in Garden City.

The Kiwanis Clubs of Myrtle Beach is displaying their commitment to the children and communities of Horry County with the launch of a Kiwanis One-Day campaign called "Stuff the Bus." The program is designed to create a stronger awareness of the need to help the hungry children of our surrounding area.

On April 10, The Kiwanis Club from Myrtle Beach is teaming up with Help-4-Kids for a Kiwanis "One Day" of community service.  From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lowes Food Store at South Strand Commons, area residents will have an opportunity to "Stuff the Bus" with grocery bags brimming with wholesome, non-perishable food.

With the end of the school year fast approaching, most children in our community are counting down the days for the pool parties, picnics and fun times to begin.

However, for 60 percent of the students in Horry County Schools who are on the free and reduced meal plan, this is a time of anguish. These are the times they are most likely to go hungry. For most of these children, their meals for the day are the ones they receive from the school programs.

During the summer, the programs aren't there for them. The Help-4-Kids Program delivers food to over 1,000 kids every week of the year to feed these children.
