Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – One company is pushing tax season aside to help raise funds for the March of Dimes with a 24-hour party.
Liberty Tax Service of Myrtle Beach will host the March For Babies kick-off party at April 2, featuring food, music and a warm-up for the walk.
The tax service will stay open during the entire 24-hour party and will double any donation to the March of Dimes with a discount on personal income tax preparation.
"Every baby born in this country has been touched by the medical breakthroughs, the advocacy efforts and the community health services that the March of Dimes provides," said Samantha Slapnik, general manager of Liberty Tax Service. "My passion for this cause is very personal. I am a preemie and I have two children of my own. I have seen what the March of Dimes has done, but I also know what challenges we face ahead to help every baby be born healthy. We have lofty goals to raise money this weekend, but with the generosity of the community we are already half-way to our goal!"
Liberty Tax volunteers will begin walking on a treadmill staged outside of the Galleria Shopping Center office, located at 9600 N.Kings Hwy. in Myrtle Beach, beginning at noon on Friday. The fundraiser will end at noon on Saturday.
