Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are investigating after a man was shot in the head early Saturday morning and helped to a hospital by a pair of Good Samaritans.
According to the victim, Bryan W. Carrick, 43, he was walking on Oak Street near 21st Avenue North just after midnight Saturday when he suddenly felt a pain in the left side of his head. Carrick reported seeing stars, and then blacking out. When he awoke, he said his head was bleeding heavily, and he removed his shirt to cover the wound.
Two women pulled up next to him and asked if he needed help. Carrick said he got in their vehicle and they drove him to a nearby hospital, and then left.
Doctors told police Carrick had been shot and that the bullet entered and exited under the scalp, but did not pierce his skull. Carrick told police he does not own anyone money and could not think of anyone wishing to harm him.
