MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) A Myrtle Beach man arrested for sharing digital videos of children engaging in sexual acts in 2010 was sentenced on sexual exploitation charges Tuesday.
Horry County Public Index records show that 22-year-old Joseph Henry Carroll, V was arrested in March 2010 for sharing sexual videos over the internet.
South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster said in March 2010 that Carroll's felony sexual exploitation charges are punishable by two to 10 years in prison on each count.
Investigators with the Myrtle Beach Police Department allege Carroll shared digital videos over the web depicting children engaged in sexual acts. The 22-year-old's computer was seized and forensically examined, which yielded the pornographic images.
Records show Carroll plead guilty to five charges of sexual exploitation of a minor Tuesday. Carroll is sentenced to two years for each charge, which will run concurrently, and must now register as a sex offender.
