Raleigh, NC - RALEIGH, NC (WMBF) - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise subcontractors will soon have an opportunity to participate in two major North Carolina road projects, according to officials with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
NCDOT will hold an outreach meeting for those subcontractors interested on March 30 at 1:30 p.m. at the Metrolina Regional Traffic Management Center in Charlotte. Present subcontractors in the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise will have the opportunity to network with prime contractors selected to bid on the design-build projects.
The projects include the following:
- I-85 widening from north of Long Ferry Road in Rowan County to North of NC-150
- I-485 from west of NC-115 to west of I-85
These projects will consist of numerous work activities including clearing and grubbing, earthwork, borrow, storm drain, utilities, guardrail, seeding, erosion control, signage, miscellaneous concrete, curb and gutter, stone base, asphalt paving, pavement marking, bridges, fence, fabrics, traffic control, trucking, demolition and stream restoration.
