Health care supporters see violent backlash

Washington - (NBC) – Democrats in Congress were warned by police Wednesday to be on alert after at least three attacks on offices and one private home.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says at least ten Democrats have been threatened.

As the Senate began debate on the reconciliation bill, police reports piled up. Bricks were thrown through the window of Democrat Louise Slaughter and another office in western New York, while a door smashed at Gabrielle Gifford's office in Tucson.

In Virginia, a Tea Party blog posted what it claimed was Democratic Congressman Tom Perriello's address. Someone cut a gas line there, but it turned out to be the home of Perriello's brother.

He has a wife and four young children.

The blogger later backpedaled, saying he wasn't trying to incite violence.

The Senate is still working on final changes to the bill.
