Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Hundreds of Mazda Miata cars will be flooding the streets of Myrtle Beach Thursday through Sunday for the 4th annual Miatas at Myrtle Beach event.
The gathering of Mazda sports cars is expected to feature 350 to 400 Miatas of all vintages, their drivers, navigators and other family members. A total of 25 Miata clubs from across the country will converge in the Grand Strand for the event from as far away as Texas and California.
Event organizers say the event will be based at the Sea Mist resort on South Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, despite other car enthusiast activities taking place across the Myrtle Beach area. Activities include:
Track Day at the Myrtle Beach Speedway on Friday at 10 a.m. featuring an autocross event and hot laps with no pace car.
Car Show in the Clouds on top of the Sea Mist's parking deck from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
Organizers expect 800 to 1,000 participants for the weekend car festival.
