Myrtle Beach, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Myrtle Beach woman has been named the executive committeewoman for the Horry County Democratic Party and will represent the county at the party's state convention in April.
Beatrice Catalano, who recently had a failed bid to unseat Mayor John Rhodes at Myrtle Beach City Hall, will represent the county at the 2010 South Carolina Democratic Convention set for April 24.
Catalano was elected to the spot by the Horry County Democratic Party on Monday. She will serve in that capacity through March 2012.
Catalano served as chair of the Horry County Democratic Party for seven years, and started the first Democratic Women's Club in Horry County.
