New Hampshire - (NBC) - An electrical shock has left a New Hampshire high school student in critical condition.
Kyle DuBois, 18, was in a trades class at Dover High School when he was shocked doing circuiting work shortly before noon on Thursday.
The shock left the high school junior unconscious, and his heart may have even stopped, according to the superintendent. His teacher immediately performed CPR on him.
DuBois was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he's officially listed in critical condition. His parents are at the hospital with him.
The school's principal notes incidents of this nature are extremely rare. The superintendent says DuBois was holding alligator clips when he was shocked, adding that the circuit panels are inspected every year. He also stressed the emphasis placed on the safety of the students.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the school and police.
