Grand Strand Miracle League brings players, family together for fundraiser

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - An organization dedicated to providing people with mental and physical disabilities the opportunity to play baseball will be packing one local restaurant to help raise funds for its 2010 season.

Family and friends are encouraged to join the Grand Strand Miracle League at Liberty Steak House at Broadway at the Beach on April 21 from 4 to 9 p.m. for food and drink specials. All proceeds, according to organizers, will go to help support the organization.

During the event, participants can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win the ultimate dining and entertainment package, valued at over $1,250 in certificates from the best restaurants on the Grand Strand. The runner-up prize is valued at $750.  Tickets are $5 each or five for $20.

The Grand Strand Miracle League played its first season of baseball in the spring of 2002, making it the second Miracle League to be established in the country.
