Columbia, SC - COLUMBIA, SC (AP) - Filing for elective offices is opening in South Carolina.
Candidates for local, state and federal offices begin filing for the posts Tuesday. The filing period closes at noon on March 30.
South Carolinians will elect a U.S. senator and all six U.S. representatives this year.
The governor and eight other statewide offices also are up this year. All 124 members of the South Carolina House of Representatives also face election.
Primaries are set for June 8, with any needed runoffs on June 22. The general election is Nov. 2.
