GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Many college students will come to the Grand Strand this spring in search of sun and sand, but some come to help others.
This past week, 18 college students spent their spring break at Tara Hall, a home for neglected, troubled and abused boys in Georgetown County
The students from Florida State and University of South Florida built beds, reorganized the school's library planted gardens, cleaned up a greenhouse and tutored boys at the home.
On their final full day at the home, the students on spring break held their very own "Olympic Games" with the boys at the home.
The home's director Jim Dumm says the most important thing the students did was to simply interact with the boys all week long.
This year the home is celebrating its 40th Anniversary.
