PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WMBF) – Our two WMBF News Athletes of the Week are a pair of the most dominant offensive linemen in our area, and they understandably love playing together.

"It's pretty nice playing with a [Division 1] prospect," said Waccamaw senior Ali Robinson about his teammate, Jerome Maybank.

"It's nice, I've been playing with him since rec league," said Waccamaw junior Jerome Maybank about Ali Robinson.

They are both massive offensive linemen and a big part of the Warriors' success this season.  Robinson is listed at 6'2 and 290 pounds.  He is getting interest from Presbyterian College and Coastal Carolina, among others.  Maybank is listed at 6'4, 320 pounds, and is receiving interest from Clemson, South Carolina and North Carolina.

"Awful lot of size and ability there," said Waccamaw head coach Burney Bourne.

The two are gentle giants off the field, laughing and having fun with teammates.  It's a different story during the games.

"They get nasty, hooting and hollering, they do more than you expect," said Warriors quarterback Terron Britton.  "They turn into demons. I don't even get close to them on the field.  Only time I get close to them is in the huddle.  I call the play and say, go do what you have to do.  They're beasts."

"If I see someone I know, I let them know before the game, 'I don't know you anymore until after the game,'" said Maybank.  "It's like another side of me comes out - an evil side of me."

The two linemen share many qualities; even their jersey numbers are consecutive: Robinson wears 75 and Maybank sports number 76.  They also both feel confident as their team moves forward this season.

"[We want to go] 5-0 in the region," said Robinson.  "That's what we're thinking, that's what we're always going to think."

Waccamaw is currently 2-0 in the region.  They face Timberland Saturday night.
