DILLON, SC (WMBF) - Antuawn Blue is a big part of Dillon's state title last year, and a possible run at a second straight this year.
"My number one goal is to go back to the state championship and win," said Blue, a senior wide receiver.
Blue stars on offense, occasionally running the ball in addition to passing. He also sees time on defense and in special teams where he returns punts. His talent catches a lot of attention.
"Blue comes up and makes big plays in big games," said Dillon head coach Jackie Hayes. "Definitely a big time Division 1 player [in college], we expect him to make those plays."
Blue has a chance to be a Division 1 player in college. He's drawn interest, though no formal scholarship offers, from Clemson, USC and NC State, among several others.
Blue also plays on the same team with his identical twin brother, Anquawn.
"It's good, because I know if nobody else is there, my brother's going to be there," said Blue.
A position switch this season reignited the competition between the brothers.
"They switched him from running back to receiver, so we compete in yards and catches and everything," said Blue. "I'm winning [the competition so far this year]."
Dillon is scheduled to face Class 3A defending state champion Myrtle Beach this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Dillon.
