CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - An excessive heat warning is again in effect for the South Carolina coast.
The National Weather Service has issued the warning through 9 p.m. Friday from the Charleston-Georgetown County line southwest along the coast and into southern Georgia.
Temperatures away from the beaches will rise to nearly 102 degrees. But with the high humidity, it will feel as hot as 116 degrees in some places.
Then, as the sea breeze pushes humidity inland later in the day, it could feel like 121 degrees.
The Weather Service has some simple advice - drink lots of liquids, stay in air conditioning and try to stay out of the sun.
