FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A two-story house has suffered heavy damage following a fire early Monday night.
Officials with the Florence Fire Department say crews were dispatched to the home along Covington Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters say they found flames shooting through the building's roof.
A spokesman for the fire department says he does not believe anyone was at home when the blaze started. Firefighters say it appears the two-story house was divided into three separate living spaces.
The second story of the house, according to early reports, is destroyed. It is unclear how much damage the first floor sustained.
