Darlington theft ring busted; 3 men in custody

DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Deputies from several Pee Dee law enforcement agencies have made multiple arrests involving an ongoing property theft ring, the Darlington County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

A spokesman from the Darlington County Sheriff's Office says approximately $50,000 in stolen property was recovered at two different locations in Darlington County.

Currently, deputies are in the process of locating and notifying the victims in the cases of stolen property. Darlington County Sheriff Wayne Byrd says officials anticipate to recover more stolen property in upcoming days.

Jonas Demetric Davis, of Florence; Jonathan Wesley McCall and Alex Ugene McAllister, both of Darlington County, were arrested and charged with conspiracy and possession of stolen goods.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office, Florence County Sheriff's Office and officers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources assisted in the investigation.
