Murder suspect wanted in Robeson Co.

ROBESON COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - Robeson County investigators are looking for a man wanted for murder and armed robbery.

According to Robeson County Sheriff's Maj. Howard Branch, William James Stanford Jr., 21, of Lumberton, NC, is wanted for first degree murder and armed robbery. Branch says he is considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators say Stanford was robbing a home on Deep Branch Road near Maxton around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he shot and killed Austin Hunt, 19.

Anyone with information on Stanford's whereabouts or the crime is asked to call the Robeson County Sheriff's Office at 910-671-3100.
