
BENNETTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - The Marlboro County Tax Coalition is offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for very low to moderate income families for the 2009 tax year.
The tax preparation is free and is prepared by local volunteers who are trained by the IRS. Returns are filed electronically and refunds are direct deposited within 7 – 10 business days. The taxpayer may also have the refunds mailed to them.
This year the taxpayer may have their refund loaded onto a prepaid VISA card.
Preparation is available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the CDC of Marlboro County, 106 E. Market St. in Bennettsville. No appointment is needed, call 843-454-2188. Appointments are available after 5 p.m.
