MCCOLL, SC (WMBF) - A McColl man is in jail after authorities charged him with raping and sexually assaulting a girl and child pornography, according to a report from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
George L. Chavis, 58, is charged with first and second degree criminal sexual assault with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14 and obscene/dissemination, procuring or promoting obscenity unlawful.
In addition to the assault allegations made by the victim, investigators say Chavis took several nude photos of a minor and downloaded them to his computer. Forensic investigators recovered the images from Chavis' computer.
