Second string of Pee Dee break-ins worry residents, deputies

Posted: Updated:

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A series of break-ins in Scranton has prompted an investigation by the Florence County Sheriff's Office, officials announced Friday.

Deputies say over the past several weeks, five break-ins have been reported along Trifalia Road, North Bethel Road, Sam Lee Road and High Hill Road. The break-ins, according to officials, have occurred during the daytime when no one was occupying the residences.

Items reported removed from the homes have primarily consisted of firearms, large flat screen TVs, laptop computers and jewelry.

Currently, no information has been made available to investigators regarding the break-ins being related to similar incidents in the Southborough Road area of the county earlier in the week.

Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to contact the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 655-2121 ext. 340.
