
COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - A Fork, SC man was arrested Tuesday by officers with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in connection with an internet predator case.
William Truett Rogers, 29, was arrested on charges of criminal solicitation of a minor, dissemination of harmful material to a minor, criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and 18 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
If convicted, Rogers faces 10 years in prison on the solicitation charge, 10 years is prison and a $5,000 fine on the dissemination of harmful material charge, 20 years in prison on the CSC charge, and 10 years in prison for each count of sexual exploitation.
Arrest warrants allege that beginning in the summer of 2009, Rogers sent obscene email to an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. A search warrant was executed at Rogers' residence, where investigators say Rogers had sex with the 13-year-old, and that he possibly had images of child pornography stored on his computer.
The Dillon County Sheriff's Office assisted the case with the execution of a search warrant at Rogers' residence, which resulted in the seizure of a computer.
Rogers was assigned a $50,000 bond.
