
COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) - The public is invited to attend a presentation of a plan for a new tourism center in the Pee Dee.
South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, consultants from Tourism Development International Inc., and the Pee Dee Steering Committee will unveil the Pee Dee region's Tourism Product Development Plan on Dec. 7.
The presentations will lay out an integrated regional plan containing specific recommendations for the expansion and development of tourism throughout the Pee Dee region. Counties in the designated region include Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Lee, Marion, Marlboro and Williamsburg.
There will be two presentations of the plan on Monday. The first will be at 11 a.m. in the ballroom of the Florence Civic Center at 3300 W. Radio Dr. in Florence. The second will be at 2 p.m. at the Marion Opera House Meeting Room at 100 NE Court St.
Each presentation should last about one hour.
