LAS VEGAS, NV (WMBF/KLAS) - Investigators in Las Vegas say the body of a 28-year-old Conway woman was found by firefighters inside of a burning home late Sunday night.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the fire on Panorama Crest Avenue in Las Vegas around 9 p.m. After two hours of fighting the blaze, firefighters found the body of a woman inside the main entryway to the house.
A Las Vegas coroner identified the deceased woman as Karen Michelle Heely, 28, of Conway. Officials say she was pronounced dead at 3:20 a.m. Monday.
WMBF News was able to locate an address listing for a Karen M. Heely in Conway, and a neighbor's description matched what was learned after Heely's death.
"She was probably 5'7, long brown hair, good looking and skinny," said neighbor Brian Anderson.
Anderson says Heely stood out and was an attractive girl, but was rarely at her residence in Conway.
"You could tell, I guess, she would do modeling. She really stood out," he added.
While the incident remains under investigation, fire officials say an exact cause may not be determined because the roof of the house collapsed during the blaze.
According to Las Vegas officials, the owner of the 4,300 square foot home is a Las Vegas cardiologist and was not home at the time of the blaze.
