Brunswick Co. authorities arrest wanted man

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who they say could have been armed and dangerous.

According to the sheriff's office, Nelson Alexander Caraballo was wanted for second degree burglary.

Authorities say Caraballo was arrested for assault and attempted carjacking that took place in mid-November at the Food Lion parking lot in Holden Beach.

Brunswick County Detectives located Caraballo off of Stanbury Road and arrested him without incident.  He is facing charges of:

  • Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury
  • First degree kidnapping
  • Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
  • Second degree burglary
  • Breaking and entering

More charges are pending as the investigation continues.
