Hearing set for Dec. 3 for Elmer Fudd motions

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The case against a mystery commenter being sued by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce goes before a judge on Dec. 3.

Judge Larry Hyman will consider a motion to compel the Sun News to disclose Fudd's registration information, and a motion to stay by the defendant, who to this point is known as John Doe.

The MBACC claims Fudd posted defamatory comments about it on the Sun News' website, alleging the chamber was being raided by Horry County Police and computers were being seized.

In October, attorneys for the chamber announced they would not take any further legal action against the anonymous commenter until after the Nov. 3 election.
