CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County Council approved an incentives package for Boeing following an executive session Tuesday evening.
The package includes a fee to ease the burden of property taxes on the new 787 Dreamliner plant.
Early estimates say the plant could bring $2 billion to the Tri-County area each year, beginning in 2017. The plant is also expected to bring 3,800 jobs to the area over the next seven years.
State lawmakers passed the first incentives package the day after Boeing announced it would build the assembly plant in North Charleston.
Boeing will break ground on the new plant on Friday.
