Police: Man charged with sexually assaulting 5 children

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A 40-year-old man has been taken into custody in Florence County Wednesday after police allege he sexually assaulted five children.

Maj. Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department reports Robert Lee Johnson, of Florence, has been charged with one count of first degree sexual conduct with a minor, four counts of second degree sexual conduct with a minor, four counts of lewd act on a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Raines says the incidents occurred between 2001 and 2008 with three girls and two boys. The ages of the victims range from 4 to 14 years old.

All were sexually assaulted when Lee was babysitting or the victims were staying at his home.

Anyone with further information in this case is asked to call the Florence Police Department immediately.
