CLIO, SC (WMBF) - The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help identifying suspects in three recent home invasions near Clio.
In the past month, the MCSO has responded to separate incidents in the area of SC-381 and Laurin Willis Road. The victims report that the actions of the suspects are similar in nature, but investigators have not confirmed that the suspects are the same or that the crimes are related.
The victims report that masked suspects came into their homes, tied them up, demanded money and in one occurrence stole some electronics and a vehicle that was later recovered. The victims report that the suspects have been armed with handguns and long guns on each case.
"We take these crimes very seriously at the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office and are working diligently to bring the suspects to justice quickly," said Marlboro County Lt. Jamie Seales.
Investigators from Marlboro, Dillon and Robeson (NC) counties, as well as officers from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, are working the case.
The crimes these suspects have committed could possible carry a life sentence if convicted.
Authorities are asking anyone with any information on this investigation to call the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office and ask to speak to an investigator. Information will be kept confidential and a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
