GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - State Rep. Laura Wiley says next year will be her last in the North Carolina General Assembly.
Wiley told the News & Record of Greensboro she won't run for a fourth term in the House because she said she needs more time with her family. She'll serve out her current term representing the 61st House District through the end of 2010.
The Guilford County Republican is a former High Point city council member who defeated incumbent Steve Wood five years ago in a GOP primary.
Wiley has spent her time in Raleigh working on legislation focusing on special education and expanding the criminal definition of stalking.
The newspaper reported Monday two GOP candidates have announced they're running for Wiley's seat in next May's primary.
