WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A 10-year-old and 3-year-old were killed Saturday afternoon when the vehicle they were in crashed off of SC-261 in Williamsburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. on Wilson Chapel Road of SC-261. Tamaya Watson, 10, died at the scene, according to Williamsburg County Deputy Coroner Vernon Fulton. Fulton said 3-year-old Tamel Watson died later at an area hospital.
The driver of the car, Tami Yvonne Turner, 40, was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated and released.
Reports say Turner was northbound six miles east of Kings Street where the road curves left. Turner apparently lost control and drove into a field to the right where the vehicle overturned. SCHP reports that conditions were clear at the time of the accident.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating this incident; however, no charges have been filed at this time.
