Dillon Co. sets celebration for Veterans Day

DILLON, SC (WMBF) – Dillon County will honor those who served our country with a special celebration on Veterans Day.

The annual Dillon County Veterans Day ceremony will be held on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Square at the Dillon City-County Complex in Dillon.

The guest speaker is Lt. Colonel Jon Regan Walters, USAR. LTC Walters is a 1984 graduate of The Citadel and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery. He served as a Fire Support Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division before leaving active service.

LTC Walters is slated to take command of 2nd Battalion, 1st Training Brigade, Ft Bragg, North Carolina in the fall.

The public is invited to attend this observance.
