FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Several Florence County schools are rolling out an online resource that allows parents to see the children's grades, attendance records and teacher assignments online. The program, called PowerSchool, also allows parents to set up an email address to receive specific student reports.
Florence School District One is in the process of activating this parent access for middle and high school students. Access for elementary schools will also be available.
Parent usernames and passwords are being assigned to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Parents of West Florence High School students received usernames and passwords in September. The usernames and passwords were sent home with the students.
Parents of students at South Florence must visit the school's website to the complete the parent portal form or visit the school to complete the form. Once the form has been completed and emailed or returned to the school, the parents of South Florence students must present proof of identification and will be able to pick the user name and password from the school.
At Wilson High, parents must visit the school to complete the parent portal form, after which they will be given the username and password to have access to PowerSchool.
Principals of elementary school students will distribute usernames and passwords to parents from the individual elementary schools. The elementary distribution of usernames and passwords for the use of Powerschool will take place on Nov. 2, Parent Teacher Conference Day.
