FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - One of the men charged in a double murder in Florence County is now facing arson charges.
Florence County authorities charged Montez Barker, 25, with third degree arson. Investigators say he set an SUV on fire, hindering in the murder investigations of Bill Hall Jr. and Talya Jeanette Poston, who were found murdered Sept. 1 on Isaiah Street near Flowers Road. Bond on this latest charge has been set at $25,000.
Barker and co-defendants Laross Graham, 27, and Fonnelze Travis Delaine, 26, both of Florence, were previously charged with two counts of murder each.
Barker remains at the Florence County Detention Center after bond was denied on the murder charges.
Emergency crews were called to the crime scene around 11:30 a.m. Sept. 1. Sgt. Brett Camp of the Florence County Sheriff's Office says Hall, 26, and Poston, 32, were found shot to death when investigators arrived.
A green 2004 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer belonging to one of the victims was located in East Florence on Sept. 4. According to authorities, the SUV had been burned. A caller reported hearing loud, popping noises and called 911. Responding officers found the vehicle ablaze.
