MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Law enforcement officials in Marlboro County say a man suspected in a Laurinburg, NC pharmacy break-in early Monday morning has been arrested.

According to Marlboro County Lt. Jamie Seales, Laurinburg Police officers were called to a pharmacy near the hospital in Laurinburg, NC around 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, Seales said a pickup truck with three men inside was leaving the scene.

Laurinburg officers chased the truck into Marlboro County through McColl and into Brownsville before the truck crashed on Highway 38 near Acadia Road, where the three suspects fled the scene on foot.

Agencies from Marlboro, Chesterfield and Dillon Counties, as well as officers from Laurinburg, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Department of Natural Resources began sweeping the area for the men while helicopters from SLED and Chesterfield County provided air support and search crews.

Around 9:30 a.m. Monday officers captured Jeffrey Lynn Polson and Ronny Adams Jr.  A third suspect, identified as Josephy Lockamy, 30, was still at large.

On Tuesday evening, officials in Marlboro County said Lockamy was in police custody.  He was arrested off of U.S. 38 South, not far from where the getaway car wrecked and the chase originally began.

Seales said Lockamy has been convicted of committing the same crime in Marlboro County in the past, and believes he is connected to some current unsolved cases.

"The last rash we had around Marlboro County, Lockamy was involved in those and has pled guilty or been given probation for some of those," said Seales. "[There's been] some more in Marlboro County [that] he is now a suspect in and this just confirms our belief as him as a person of interest."
