CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Chesterfield School District has approved four furlough days for all employees, as it becomes the latest district to succumb to yet another tight budget year.
Superintendant John Williams says the four furlough days have been approved by the Chesterfield County School Board, in addition to four additional furlough days for the superintendent and other selected district office administrators.
Employees, according to Williams, were already asked to take one furlough day during the 2009-2010 school year. District officials were also asked to cut two days.
Despite the newly announced furloughs, no positions have been cut in Chesterfield County for this budget year.
