FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) -Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office say they'll have to wait another month before identifying the human remains found underneath a home in Florence County.

Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, says the bones were found off of Old Georgetown Road between Scranton and Coward on July 16.

Investigators say movers were moving a trailer on a piece of land when they discovered the remains underneath the home in what's being called a "shallow grave."

The Florence County Sheriff's Office has yet to receive an official cause of death report from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Samples of the bones have been sent to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for DNA identification, but officials say the samples are so degraded that nuclear analysis was not able to make a positive match.

The samples will now be forwarded to the University of Texas in Fort Worth to complete a more detailed analysis, resulting in what investigators hope will be a positive DNA match.

Nunn says the remains were found on land that had recently been sold after its owner, Randy Bratschi, went missing in 2004.  He has yet to be found.

Investigators are not speculating whether or not the remains could be those of Bratschi.
