COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Teen sensation Miley Cyrus is coming to Columbia, but her performance will conflict with one of South Carolina's biggest sporting events of the year.
Colonial Life Arena Manager Tom Paquette tells WIS News 10 that 16-year-old Cyrus, also known as the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, will perform at the arena November 28 at 7:00pm.
"We've had lots of big performers here, but I don't know if we've had anything that creates such a big buzz as Miley," says Paquette.
Tickets for the concert will cost from $42.25 to $82.25, and will go on sale June 13. They'll be available online or by phone at 1-866-4SC-TIXX.
"It's really exciting; I think Miley Cyrus on her last tour had unprecedented ticket demand. Any time you have an artist as big as she is it's exciting to have her come to Columbia," says Paquette.
But the concert will be on the same day the Clemson Tigers play the USC Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
The game's starting time has not been scheduled, so it's not known if the two events would coincide, placing a major traffic burden on the city. However, the past two times USC hosted the game it also started at 7:00pm.
"We don't know how much of a conflict there will be, but if you think of the huge regional draw from the game and now this concert, Columbia is going to be the place to be on the 28th," says Paquette.
