LEXINGTON, SC (WMBF) - A Lexington woman is behind bars Thursday after agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division say she stole thousands of dollars from her employer.

Catherine L. Setree, 40, has been charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent after taking $231,176 from the Family Medicine Center in Richland County.  Investigators say the charges stem back from January 2004 to August 2006 after stealing the money as an accounts receivable clerk and depositing it in her personal bank account.

Arrest warrants say the funds were from patients who were submitting payments for services from the medical center.  An audit of the company's books verified the amount of missing money.

Breach of trust with fraudulent Intent is a felony offense punishable up to 10 years in prison.
