After working in Manhattan at CBS Broadcasting Inc., Alisha Laventure joined the WMBF News Team in June 2010 as a video journalist.
Alisha is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, where she double-majored in Broadcast Journalism and Romance Languages. She is fluent in French, Spanish and Haitian-Creole, and wants to add Italian to the list.
While in college, Alisha had a chance to see the world, studying abroad in Senegal, China, Peru, France, Colombia and Ghana.
"My travels allowed me to meet some extraordinary people, who taught me the true strength of the human spirit," she said. "Their stories remain untold and I just want to share them with the world."
When Alisha isn't toting her tripod around in the Pee Dee, she enjoys reading, rollerblading, biking and laughing out loud with family and friends. She recently discovered the joys of karaoke and cooking Rachel Ray's 30-minute recipes.
