    Seasonably hot and humid weather will linger through the rest of the week before rain chances increase again by the weekend.  This afternoon will be another hot one with temperatures near 90 at the beach and the lower and middle 90s across the Pee Dee. The heat index will climb to around 100 for most of the afternoon. While most areas will stay dry, a few spots may see a brief afternoon storm.

    Scattered storms and showers continue this evening and stay for a stormy start into the work week. The main threat from these overnight storms will be lightning, gusty winds and heavy rain. The storms will stay inland in the Pee Dee between 10pm and early in the morning. After 3AM, the storms slowly move towards Horry County and the Grand Strand.
