PITTSBURGH (AP) - Fozzy Whittaker ran for a 2-yard touchdown, Graham Gano added a short field goal and the Carolina Panthers beat the listless Pittsburgh Steelers 10-0 in the preseason finale Thursday night. The Panthers held the Steelers to just 185 total yards. Both teams sat their star players with just 10 days to go before the regular season begins.

(AP) - Tony Stewart will return to Sprint Cup competition Sunday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway, ending a three-race hiatus after his car struck and killed a fellow driver during a dirt-track race. The three-time NASCAR champion has not raced since Aug. 9, when he hit Kevin Ward Jr. at a sprint car event in upstate New York.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kenny Hill broke Johnny Manziel's single-game passing record with 511 yards and Texas A&M beat South Carolina 52-28 Thursday night, ending the Gamecocks' 18-game home win streak. Hill's performance in his first career start proved there is plenty of life in the Aggies' offense without Manziel.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Chad Morris have repeatedly said that the Tigers' attack would not slow down even with new faces in control. The first chance to prove that comes Saturday at Georgia.
