NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach Kicking Academy wrapped up one of their summer camps Saturday at North Myrtle Beach High School.  The event teaches fundamentals to kickers, punters and long-snappers, many of whom are from the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

One feature of the camp is their set of counselors: college kickers and punters who teach the campers everything they need to know.  One of those counselors is Ryan Quigley, a former star at North Myrtle Beach, now a punter and kicker for Boston College.  He says the college kickers can help guide the talented young players towards possibly playing college football one day as well.

"We have a lot of college kickers here; they all went through the same process," said Quigley.  "We're able to talk about that, we're able to tell these guys what it takes to get to that level."

One of the other counselors was former Myrtle Beach Seahawk Jordan Butler.  Butler is getting ready to head to Columbia where he says he's going to compete to handle the Gamecocks punting and kickoff responsibilities.
