Myrtle Beach seeing higher revenues from tourism tax

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The City of Myrtle Beach is seeing high returns from their 1-percent Tourism Development Fee.

City officials say the amount received was 32-percent higher than estimated. These recent quarterly collection receipts to-date account for $14,246,800.91.

Sales transactions from this recent report range from the months of March, April and May.

The City of Myrtle Beach implemented the 1-percent Tourism Development Fee on August 1, 2009.
