Morgan StreblerMYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Pat Boone Family Theater is opening in Myrtle Beach in Spring 2010, and a Las Vegas illusionist and mentalist is slated as its resident headliner.
According to Glenn W. Milligan, president/CEO of Liquid Metal Holdings LLC, Pat Boone will perform at the theater's grand opening and a Christmas program. The company picked Myrtle Beach because it is a vibrant location, and officials liked the area's economy and existing attractions.
Milligan would not say where the theater would be located, but said it would be in an existing building "in the heart of Myrtle Beach." A Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board members says that location will be at the former Club Kryptonite along US-17 Bypass and 29th Avenue North.
According to Milligan, the theater will do a matinee and two evening shows and has already signed more than 50 performers.
Headlining the theater will be Morgan Strebler. Milligan says Morgan's stage persona and audience-interactive brand of magic are perfectly suited for the 600-seat venue.
"Every spectator in attendance should be prepared for Morgan to get into their mind and be physically, mentally, and emotionally immersed in his new reality bending show," Milligan said.
He added, "Pat Boone is the epitome of world-class talent, sophistication, and top drawer family entertainment. Not only does our new theater bear his legendary name, Mr. Boone will also make several signature performances here each year. Between his Gold Label artists and industry relationships, there will always be a long line of the nation's top artists gracing our stage. Without a doubt, the Pat Boone Family Theater will be Myrtle Beach's premier entertainment destination."
Morgan is expected to perform approximately 200 days a year during this initial five-year deal.
