MYRTLE BEACH, SC  (WMBF) – Many stores are getting ready for the Black Friday rush by cutting prices and offering specials.

From electronics to clothes, malls to downtown shopping, the rush is on to get you to spend money in their stores.

At the Bodega in Downtown Conway, the store owner says she's not opening as early as the big retail stores, but is planning specials all day Friday. She hopes people will decide to spend some time with the local stores this holiday season.

"We're a small town and we try to give that small town hospitality that people are looking for at Christmas, the Christmas spirit," said Debby Stephens, owner. "We try to have the things that you don't find in the big box stores. We try to carry things only the smaller, only gourmet stores can carry."

Many stores will open early on Friday. The Tanger Outlet centers on 501 and 17 plan on opening at midnight Thursday to get an early start on "Midnight Madness."

"Holiday shoppers look to Tanger to find the latest fashion trends at a great price and discover the hottest new gifts for the holidays," said Dee Ann Nesbit, Tenant Services Manager for Tanger. "And of course the best brand and designer names."

Others plan on opening at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. with door buster specials for shoppers. The Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach and Magnolia Mall in Florence both open at 6 a.m.
