Coast Guard: Boat sinking off Myrtle Beach shore

Posted: Updated:

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Two fishermen were saved on a life raft Friday morning after their boat began taking on water 20 miles off the Myrtle Beach shore.

According to Coast Guard officials in Charleston, the 63-foot Sport Fisher began sinking around 9:30 a.m. Two people on board deployed a life raft and were able to get off the boat safely.

The Pacifics, a fishing boat in the area, picked the two up. Coast Guard officials say a boat from Georgetown is en route to meet with the Pacifics to take the two individuals back to shore.
