FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - McLeod Health employees are busy gearing up for a Saturday event geared at raising diabetes awareness in the Pee Dee.
The 11th annual 2009 Diabetes Health Fair will kick off Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McLeod Medical Plaza on East Cheves Street in Florence.
The health fair, which is free to the public, will include blood sugar, blood pressure and eye screenings. In addition, vendors and health officials will provide foot checks, oral hygiene information and diabetes related nutrition and medication information.
Participants who bring their glucose monitors will have the opportunity for staff to change the monitor's clock to reflect daylight savings time.
