MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach International Airport is teaming up with two organizations to start up a public recycling program, which kicks off Thursday.
A launch ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at MYR. MYR partnered with the Horry County Solid Waste Authority and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Through a grant, the DHEC provided MYR with 12 recycling containers and the SWA will be collecting the recycled material. According to a press release, MYR is the third airport in the state to provide such a program to the public.
Airport personnel have begun locating the containers in high-traffic locations throughout the airport. Bins will be located at the entrance, check-in area, rental car area and the concourse/gate area.
