MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The owners of Freestyle Music Park are being sued again, making it the 17th time since its spring opening a suit has been filed against FPI MB Entertainment LLC.
New Jersey-based Zamperla Inc., an amusement ride manufacturer, filed suit Oct. 15 seeing collections of $100,000. According to court documents, Zamperla claims FPI purchased four rides totaling $765,000, but to date had only paid $665,000. Zamperla is asking for judgement including $100,000, plus interest, costs and fees.
Additionally, the filing claims the two companies agree to pay expenses incurred for installation, which Zamperla says totaled $1,613.53. Zamperla says in the suit FPI has refused to pay that amount.

Zamperla provided the park's Samba Tower, Convoy, Kite Flyer and Magic Bike.
Zamperla marks the 11th company to sue FPI MB Entertainment since reopening the failed Hard Rock Park in May.
The suit comes less than a week after the park signed a deal with new investors, sparking hopes of a fresh financial future. Freestyle President Steve Baker said on Oct. 16 the memorandum of understanding between FPI and the investors was good news for the park and the community.
In order for the MOU to be finalized, "all existing financial obligations must be satisfied," Baker said.
